Anthropometry Research Group
Multidisciplinary team formed by experts in ergonomics, anthropometry, 3D scanning technology, infographics, artificial vision, statistics and people-oriented design.
Our activity began in 1994 with the generation of anthropometric databases for the ergonomic design of jobs, furniture and footwear. The arrival of 3D digitalization technology, around the year 2000, prompted the installation of the Laboratory of Human Shape.
In the year 2001 took place the first anthropometric study of the footwear industry with a 3D foot scanner.
Since 2010, we have carried out numerous anthropometric studies of populations of adults and children through a whole body 3D scanner, obtaining a database of more than 11,000 people.
Advanced methodologies have been applied such as form analysis, model evaluation and statistics for the exploitation of these databases in various sectors such as: clothing, footwear, automobile, orthopedics, electronics, sports equipment and furniture.
